Vienna Design Week - Meet one of our pop-up stores landlords

The Vienna Design Week, Austria's largest design festival, is taking place in the upcoming weeks giving exciting opportunities for businesses to show their products to an international market. In Go—PopUp, we are proud to have a variety of spaces in Vienna that are perfectly suited for this event.

One of these is the Design Corner, by Silvia Kro. During the design week, her pop-up will be home to the Vienna Design Corner, located right at the centre of Vienna's design hotspot in the 6th and 7th districts. The spot, which has been the place for the variety of top pop-up events, is spacious white canvas ready to be transformed to anyone's creative vision.

On this opportunity, we asked Silvia a few questions regarding the success of her space, her view on pop-up places, as well as her experience being part of Go—PopUp.

What is your space characterized for?

With the address at the Getreidemarkt, our showroom is located in the immediate vicinity of the MQ, with well-known museums and exhibition halls of Vienna, as well as the Hofburg der Oper, Kärtnerstrasse and other top locations in the city centre of Vienna.

The Getreidemarkt with its designer shops, galleries, small restaurants and bistros, as well as the direct connection to the Naschmarkt, is one of the most popular shopping areas in Vienna.  The shopping street Mariahilfer Straße is just around the corner.

What is a memorable pop-up event that has taken place in your space?

There was a very special Signature Design Market, dealing with Japanese culture. At this "Cherry Blossom Fest" there where a lot of design offers related to fashion, furniture, and food, that resulted in being very well frequented.

What features do you think are essential for a pop-up space?

A good basic equipment and variable accommodation of the pop-up space is, according to my opinion, an advantage. Also being well located in the centre with easy accessibility by public transport is a definite plus.

Why do you think pop-ups are important?

Usually, only large corporations can afford the best locations, through pop-ups there is quite a variety out there which also benefits the diversity of consumers.

How did you decide to use Go—PopUp? What do you like about it?

Go—PopUp has a professional approach coupled with a personal service of the team, it is a convincing offer with an added charm.
